Frequently asked questions
What size canvas should I choose?
Measure the space on your wall first. As a guide, a canvas above a sofa, bed or sideboard looks best at around two-thirds of the width of the furniture below it.
Not sure? Tick the free design preview and our designer will recommend the best size for your photo.
Will my photo look good on a large canvas?
Upload the original, full-size photo for the sharpest result. A real person checks every photo before printing, and if yours is too small for the size you chose, we will get in touch to suggest a smaller size or a better copy.
Will my photo be cropped to fit the canvas?
Sometimes. Every canvas size has its own shape, and if your photo is a different shape (most phone photos are), a little has to be trimmed from the top and bottom or the sides to fit. With the Stretched edge, part of the picture also wraps around the sides of the frame.
One of our team checks the crop on every order so nothing important is cut off. To see exactly how it will look, tick the free design preview and we will email it to you before we print.
Can I see a preview before you print?
Yes, for free. Where you see the design preview box on the product page, tick it and we will email you a preview to approve before we print. Photo collages and split canvases always come with a proof, so you do not need to ask.
You can ask for changes, or cancel for a full refund if you are not happy.
Which edge design should I choose?
Stretched: your photo wraps around the sides of the frame.
Mirrored: the edge of your photo is mirrored onto the sides, so the whole picture stays on the front.
Black or White: plain coloured sides, with the whole picture on the front.
All edge designs are free. If there are faces or text near the edge of your photo, choose Mirrored, Black or White.
Slim 2cm or Premium 4cm frame?
The Slim 2cm frame is a classic choice that suits most rooms. The Premium 4cm frame is twice as deep, so your canvas stands further out from the wall with more of a gallery look. It is a popular choice for larger sizes.
What is the canvas made from?
Fade-resistant pigment inks on premium poly-cotton canvas, hand-stretched over a solid pine frame in our Milton Keynes workshop.
Does it arrive ready to hang?
Yes. Your canvas arrives stretched and ready for the wall. Where the product offers a hanging kit, you can add it if you would also like the fixings.
How long will it take to arrive?
We print, hand-stretch and dispatch your canvas within 3–5 working days (from when you approve your proof, if you asked for one). Need it sooner? Choose fast-track dispatch at checkout for dispatch in 1–2 working days on orders placed before 1pm.
What if it arrives damaged?
Every canvas comes with our lifetime guarantee. If it arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within 30 days with your order number and a photo of the problem, and we will repair or replace it free of charge.
